Using an iron to apply transfers

Align the transfer/graphic in the desired location. If working on a surface that is not completely flat, use heat-resistant tape to secure the design in place. When using an iron, use heat-resistant tape to secure the design.

Select the setting on your iron consistent with the material of your garment. Place parchment paper or a protective sheet on your garment to protect it from the direct heat from the press/iron. Press the transfer at 20 seconds with hard pressure. If the transfer is not adhering to the shirt, increase the setting on the iron, making sure it does not burn your fabric. Too much heat can damage the garment.

Wait until the transfer is cool to the touch (minimum 30 seconds), then gently peel the transfer back from one corner. (If it is not adhering, stop and repress for 5-10 seconds.)

Cover with parchment paper and repress for 5 seconds for a matte finish.

Wash inside out with cold water and mild detergent on a gentle cycle. Dry on the lowest heat setting or hang dry. Avoid liquid fabric softener. Do not dry clean or iron. Do not use bleach or products containing bleach.
